Frequently asked questions
What is calisthenics, and how does it differ from traditional weight training?
Calisthenics is a form of strength training that uses your body weight as resistance. Unlike traditional weight training that relies on equipment like dumbbells and barbells, calisthenics focuses on functional movements such as push-ups, pull-ups, and dips, improving overall strength, mobility, and balance.
Is calisthenics suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Calisthenics is scalable, meaning anyone can start at their own level. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or have been training for years, we adjust exercises to match your abilities and progressively increase difficulty as you get stronger.
How do your 1:1 coaching sessions work?
Our 1:1 sessions are personalized to your fitness goals, experience level, and preferences. We’ll assess your starting point, set clear goals, and design a training plan that evolves as you progress. The sessions are tailored to help you develop both strength and technique in calisthenics.
What equipment do I need for calisthenics?
The beauty of calisthenics is that it requires minimal equipment. Most exercises use your own body weight, but having access to a pull-up bar, parallel bars, set of resistance bans and some gymnastic rings can expand your range of exercises. We can also adapt exercises for outdoor or indoor spaces.
How long will it take to see results from calisthenics training?
This depends on your consistency, effort, and starting point. Many clients notice improvements in strength, mobility, and body composition within 4-6 weeks. However, achieving advanced calisthenics skills, like Planche, Front Lever, Muscle-ups or Handstands, may take months of dedicated practice.
Can calisthenics help with weight loss?
Yes, calisthenics can be an effective part of a weight-loss plan. The combination of bodyweight exercises and high-intensity training boosts your metabolism, helping you burn fat while building lean muscle. Pairing calisthenics with proper nutrition can support your weight-loss goals.
What’s the best way to get started with calisthenics if I’ve never done it before?
The best way to start is to focus on mastering basic Scapular movements and basic exercise like: push-ups, Body Row, squats, and planks. In our initial coaching session, we’ll assess your current level and introduce fundamental exercises with proper form. From there, we’ll gradually build your strength and technique, leading to more advanced skills over time.
What is your cancellation policy for in-person sessions?
We understand that life happens. We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Any cancellations made within 24 hours will be charged.
